Today i am looking up pictures on google for ideas on what sort of bird i should do and how i could make the bird. The bird i have chosen to do is a lorikeet because it is courfull and will make my toy more attractive. How i will make the bird is to draw it on a thin piece of wood on 2 or 3 pieces depending how thick it is, and to band saw it out then stick the bird pieces together.

This lesson in DF we have started our toy and have watched Mr Ward how to make some of the more difficult stages of our toy. The stage where i am up to is finishing off the box and making sure i have the right measurments. The mechanism is much easier than what i thought and i am happy with the toy i have chosen. Our next DF lesson i will be making a extra area above the box so there is more space to put the worm as i think i may have difficulties if i dont do an extra space.

Lately in DF we have been learning prodesures of making our toy and what we will be using to make our toy. My toy box will be made out of wood, the string tying the birds to the box will be made out of wire, the worm being made out of pipe cleaner and for the actual birds i still havent made a deffinate decision on what i should make them with. I am excited to start my project and hopefully everything works out as planed

Our DF class has been learning about toy mechanisms and how they work. For our assignment this term we will be making our own toy mechanism. The mechanisms i have chosen id the bird mechanism. iHave chose this one because it caught my eye from the very start and i like the way it works. Also i will be including a worm in the mechanism which will move up and down to add something special to the toy.

The past few lessons we have been learning all diferent things to do on Pro desktop and how to use the program in a more detailed way, i have learnt to make 3D objects and shapes and also a water bottle and key chain.

The last couple of weeks in design futures we have been using the program 'Pro desk top' using this program we have been learning how to make different 3D objects such as a wheel vase and water bottle. The program is a great way how to make the previous stated things and was very easy and quick to learn.

today i started my desk tidy. i found it hard to right down the exact measurments and get an exact right angle but after a few tries i got a good measument. i cut out the acrylic and glued the pieces together. I had a few troubles with the acrylic not being long enough to toucha dn be glued together

Today I started my sketching of my desk tidy. I had to measure how long a average pencil is to get the exact measurements for my pencil space. I also had to measure how long my school diary is for my diary space to make sure my desk tidy is a success. I had a few struggles with how i would be able to keep the pencils in place so i decided to put the acrylic in the middle of the pencil area.

I also like this desk tidy because as well as having a place for books you can put your stationary in it too.

Our next project that we will be designing is desk tidyers. This is a desk tidyer that i want to design although with some changes. The desk tidyer that i want to make is one i can keep my stationary in to be more organised.

1.WHAT IS THE ACTUAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIGH OF DIFFERENT COLOURS?
The differences between the lights are the amount of energy

2.DEFINE THE FOLLOWING LIGHT TERMS:
ambient light- the light surrounding an environment or subject,
direct light diffuser- A light in which evenly shows a clear light on a certain place
luminosity- The brightness of a light
energy efficiency- The amount of energy used in a period of time which is efficient and useful
watts- Amount of power in a circuit.


3.Comment on Global warming
Global warming is when the earth heats up and the temperature rises which causes greenhouse gases that makes the temperature rise. The global warming makes the animals, plants etc not being able to live with the new change so they die. Global warming is caused by pollution or electricity pollution a way to stop electricity pollution is to turn light switches off when not using them, not to use objects that waste too much power.

4. How can the modern home become more energy efficient with regard to lighting?
With the strong awareness of global warming people are starting to make energy saving lights with takes a large percentage of energy used. An example of lights that use less energy is florescent lights, they are a light bulb that is made to use less energy and still work as efficient as an average light bulb.



5. Research a modern-day lighting designer and comment on their contribution to the design world.
James Clar
James Clar is a media artist whos work is a fusion of technology, popular culture, and visual information. James’s early work was his focus on the middle east 2007 on technology shift and media affect. As a American working in Dubi his light work had a dramatic and positive change which made him a well known light designer. His work was very popular and he also worked in eyebeam atelier in New York, Fabrica in Italy, and FedEX instituted of technology/Lantana Projects in Memphis. His art work was also in the Chanel mobile art exhibition in Tokyo and Louis vitton gallery in Hong Kong, but these are only a few of the places he has shown his amazing work.

this is my finished product of the LED light. im very happy with the ende result. the light was very different from my first thoughts of what it would be like. the process of making the LED light was really good and i enjoyed it. Although i was absent from school for a few lessons i still managed to get it finished within a good time which was good.

post 1- starting work project

so far in design futures we have sketched our lamp designes and have done the first few basic steps of the process. such as cutting the wood for the stand and bending the steel. my lamp looks different from what I pictured but I am happy with the starting outcome and am excited for the next few lessons on working on it.
